Open Water

Let the Fun Begin!
If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled excitement and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.

Get your scuba diving certification with the PADI® Open Water Diver course. In just a few short classroom sessions, pool dives, and open water dives you can take on this great new hobby. Class size is 6 divers or less.

Classroom
At home you will review the Open Water book and complete the knowledge reviews. In class we will review any of your questions. Classroom is generally Friday from 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.

Pool
In the pool you will become acquainted with your gear and learn basic dive skills. Your instructor will help you with the skills to prepare for the open water. Pool session will run from 12:30 to 4:40 Saturday and Sunday.

Open Water
Open water is where you will put to use the skills you learned in the pool Plan a weekend with us at Table Rock or Beaver Lake. We will guide you through your required skills to become scuba certified! To enroll in DDC Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You will need to have adequate swimming skills and be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

Proper fitting mask, snorkel, fins and boots are important for successful enjoy-ment of your class. We can help you properly fit and purchase your gear when you sign up for your class. If your purchase your gear when you sign up for the class you will receive a 15% discount towards your gear purchase .

Course Fee: $500
Includes book, classroom, pool and open water dives. We include all rental gear (buoyance control system, regulators and gauges, tanks and wetsuit) for the pool and open water. You instructor will be available during your training to address any of your questions and concerns.

Students are responsible for acquiring personal gear (mask, snorkel, fins and boots), travel, lodging and meals for open water trip.

Advanced Open Water

After completing your Open Water continue your education and experience by earning your Advanced Open Water Diver certification. During this training you will expand your underwater knowledge and skills. The course helps you build confidence in navigation, fine-tune buoyancy skills and introduces you to different diving activities such as deep diving, night diving or boat diving.

After completing your knowledge learning, you’ll make five Adventure Dives: a deep dive (beyond 60 feet), a navigation dive, and three additional Adventure Dives of your choice to earn your certification.

This class requires five dives over a 2 day weekend at Table Rock Lake or Bever Lake. Each diver will need to provide mask, snorkel, compass, fins and boots, and own or rent BCD, regulator with gauges and wetsuit.

Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox)

The most popular continuing education class is the Enriched Air Diver class. Enriched Air, also known as “nitrox”, is a form of breathing gas that allows divers to extend bottom time and reduce nitrogen loading. During this class you will discuss managing oxygen exposure, practice analyzing oxygen content in your scuba tank and learn how to set your dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox.

This class is completed in the classroom. After certification we are happy to organize a weekend at the lake to gain practical experience diving with enriched air.
